Buenos Aires | The demographic crisis, pro-natal policies, family strengthening, and comprehensive child protection will be among the key topics discussed on July 23 at the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, where political leaders, public officials, and experts from several countries will convene.
The Political Forum “Freedom for the Future: A Political Agenda for Higher Birth Rates and Child Protection” is organized by Political Network for Values (PNfV) in partnership with Fundación Faro, Argéntea, Instituto Mises Cono Sur, Global Center for Human Rights, and Fundación Free.
“More than a forum for reflection, we see this gathering as a platform for coordination and cooperation among those responsible for designing and implementing public policies,” said Santiago Santurio, Member of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies and Argentine member of PNfV’s Advisory Council.
“Building a freer and more hopeful future begins with political decisions that protect children and strengthen families,” emphasized Clara Muzzio, Deputy Chief of Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and host of the forum.
“Political Network for Values brings together public officials and political leaders who participate in a personal capacity and share a common commitment to human dignity, the family, and fundamental freedoms. It is these shared values that unite us,” explained Lola Velarde, Executive Director of the network.
Among the speakers, in addition to Muzzio and Santurio, are Gabriel Mraida, Minister of Human Development and Habitat of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires; National Senator Carmen Álvarez Rivero; National Deputy Joaquín Ojeda; Provincial Deputy Nahuel Sotelo; and Buenos Aires City Legislator Andrea Freguia.
The forum will also showcase initiatives developed by local governments through presentations by Ramón Lanús, Mayor of San Isidro; Rodrigo Aybar, Mayor of Tres de Febrero; and Fernando Rambaldi, Mayor of La Calera (Córdoba Province).
The experts’ perspective will be provided by Laura Bryant Handford, policy analyst at The Heritage Foundation(United States); Carmen Soza, Executive Director of Ideas Republicanas (Chile); Úrsula Basset, Director of the Family Law Research Center (Argentina); and Vajk Farkas, Director of the Madrid Office of the Center for Fundamental Rights (Hungary).
The forum will conclude with remarks by former Vice President of Argentina Gabriela Michetti, together with 65 young leaders from 15 countries participating in Political Network for Values’ Youth Program.
