F sanchez, Secretario de Culto, Argentina

Francisco Sánchez, a member of Political Network for Values, is the Secretary of Cult (equivalent to a Minister of Religious Affairs) in the government of Argentina’s President Javier Milei.

Sánchez was nominated for the position by Chancellor Diana Mondino in mid-January and was part of the delegation that traveled to the Vatican for President Milei’s audience with Pope Francis on February 12. Decree 201/2024 formalizing his appointment was published in the Official Gazette on February 28.

The Secretariat of Cult, among other functions, develops the action of the government in order to promote and defend religious freedom in the country and to position it internationally as a State committed to the defense of this fundamental right. He also formulates policies regarding the government’s relations with the Catholic Church and other denominations.

Sánchez was born on December 23, 1973 in the province of Buenos Aires. He is Catholic, married and has five children. He is a technician in Human Resources from the Instituto Terciario Séneca, in Neuquén, and has a University Diploma in Human Rights from the Universidad Austral.

He was a national deputy between 2019 and 2023, period in which he served as vice-president of the House Energy Committee, and stood out for his active promotion and strong defense of life, family and liberties.
