The Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) held its second annual global meeting, the ARC Conference 2025, on February 17-19 in London. The event brought together 4,000 leaders from 96 countries and has become a privileged forum for addressing the current challenges facing Western Civilization.
ARC was co-founded by Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson, Baroness Philippa Stroud and former Australian Deputy Prime Minister John Anderson, and has among its Advisory Board members Gudrum Kugler, member of the Austrian Parliament; Douglas Murray, journalist and author of ‘The War Against the West’, and renowned psychotherapist Erica Komisar.
The ARC Conference 2025 brought together intellectuals, academics, entrepreneurs, communicators, artists, political, civic and religious leaders, and had among its speakers Mike Johnson, Speaker of the US House of Representatives; Kemi Badenoch, member of the UK Parliament and leader of the Conservative Party; Nigel Farage, leader and founder of the Reform UK party; entrepreneurs Vivek Ramaswamy and Paul Marshall, Japanese painter Makoto Fujimura (whose work was featured at the event) and sculptor Sabin Howard; activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali; historian Niall Ferguson; journalist and author David Brooks, Catholic Bishop Robert Barron, and technology pioneers Peter Thiel, Brendan McCord and Louis Mosley.
ARC advisory board member Douglas Murray delivered a speech that resonated with attendees, calling for an “Age of Reconstruction” for Western nations, based on the conviction that they represent the greatest civilizations in history. With a focus on inspiring a vision of hope and courage, ARC leaders expressed their hope that the event would mark the beginning of a broader movement to revitalize the moral and cultural foundations of the West.
At the meeting, Jordan Peterson noted that we are at a unique moment in history. It seems that everything is crumbling and that civilization is sinking, hedonism and power dominate and are leading us to collapse. However, it is also true that for the first time we can make explicit the fundamental principles of civilization in all their strength and beauty. The only way forward is an ancient principle, the one that built civilization itself: sacrifice, which can only be sustained by love.
