REGIONAL SUMMIT OF THE
AMERICAS 2015

On September 25th the Regional Summit for the Americas brought together in Washington DC more than 70 policy makers from Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Guatemala, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Lucia, Spain, Hungary, Kenya and the United States.The session took place at the Capitol Hill and was closured at the headquarters of the Organization of American States.
In addition to the plenary session, three working groups took place, where experts from the academia and civil society worked together with legislators in three specific areas: Human dignity and the value of life and motherhood; redefinition of marriage and the family as a challenge to fundamental freedoms; and the protection of fundamental freedoms, in particular of conscientious objection in the context of education.
