Less than 30 days remain for the V Transatlantic Summit of the Political Network for Values (PNfV) to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
The event will be held in New York on November 16-17 under the theme “Affirming Universal Human Rights – Bridging Cultures for Life, Family and Freedoms“.
The Summit will feature a select group of politicians and civic leaders from over 30 countries in America, Europe, and Africa, all of whom are global or local champions of fundamental values.
This is the invitation to the Summit from José Antonio Kast, president of the PNfV:
PNfV is an international network of politicians actively committed to the promotion and defense of life, family and freedoms.
Among the confirmed speakers are: Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, Minister for Women’s Affairs of Nigeria; Ito Bisonó, Minister for Industry and Commerce of the Dominican Republic; Erwin Ronquillo, Minister of Child Protection of Ecuador; Raúl Latorre, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Paraguay; Kinga Gál and Margarita de la Pisa, members of the European Parliament for Hungary and Spain, respectively; Germán Blanco, senator of Colombia; Members of Parliament Stephen Bartulica of Croatia, Nikolás Ferreira of Brazil and Salvatore Caiata of Italy and Eduardo Verastegui, producer of the film ‘Sound of Freedom‘ and presidential pre-candidate in Mexico.

The event is supported by the Government of Guatemala and will be chaired by José Antonio Kast, founder of the Republican Party of Chile, former presidential candidate in his country, and president of our Network.
Celebrating genuine human rights
According to Lola Velarde, executive director of the Network, “the 75th anniversary of the UDHR provides a magnificent opportunity to bring together senior government officials, legislators, and political and civic articulators from around the world ready to renew their commitment to the human rights enshrined in that document.”
“This is especially relevant because these fundamental rights are currently being undermined and even violated in the name of supposed new rights, which are neither universally recognized nor part of the UDHR,” she warns.
Velarde reminds us that the UDHR explicitly recognizes the right to life (Article 3); the protection that should be given to the family, motherhood and childhood (Articles 16 and 25); the right of parents to choose the education of their children (Article 26); and freedom of thought, conscience, religion, opinion and expression (Articles 18 and 19).
A cornerstone of the Network
The Transatlantic Summits are a cornerstone of the Network. They bring together politicians and civic leaders from Europe, the Americas and Africa to meet in person, share success stories and best practices, and jointly build agendas in favor of fundamental values. They usually take place every two years.
The first Summit was held at the United Nations headquarters, New York, in 2014; it was followed by others at the European Parliament, Brussels, in 2017; at the Colombian Capitol, Bogota, in 2019; and at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest, last year.
