Two weeks to go until the start of the VI Transatlantic Summit \u201cFor Freedom and the Culture of Life\u201d<\/a><\/strong><\/span> of Political Network for Values<\/strong> (PNfV) is two weeks away. The event will take place in the Spanish Senate on December 1 and 2. 200 political and civic leaders from Europe, America and Africa have been convened.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to send a strong message in favor of freedom and the culture of life. True democracies have as their inalienable foundations freedom and respect for human dignity, from which a culture of life is born. Freedom and the culture of life are the bedrock of our civilization,\u201d says Lola Velarde<\/strong>, executive director of PNfV.<\/p>\n

And she explains: \u201cwhen we chose this summit we were concerned that in many countries not only the right to life is being cancelled, but also the right to defend it. The opposition we faced in the weeks leading up to it<\/a><\/span> only confirms that this summit is more necessary than ever\u201d.<\/p>\n

Political leaders from three continents<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event will be chaired by Jos\u00e9 Antonio Kast<\/strong>, president of PNfV, and will be hosted by Jaime Mayor Oreja<\/strong>, honorary president of our Network and former Minister of the Interior of Spain.<\/p>\n

A transatlantic network of dialogue and articulation<\/strong><\/p>\n

The PNfV is an international network of politicians actively committed to the promotion and defense of life, family and liberties. The Transatlantic Summits are a cornerstone for the Network. They bring together politicians and civic leaders from the Americas, Europe and Africa to strengthen ties, exchange perspectives, share experiences and best practices, and build synergies to advance a common agenda of values. They are normally held every two years.<\/p>\n

The first Summit was held at the United Nations headquarters, New York<\/a><\/span>, in 2014; it was followed by others at the European Parliament, Brussels<\/a><\/span>, in 2017; at the Capitol of Colombia, Bogota<\/a><\/span>, in 2019; at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest<\/a><\/span>; and, last year, again at the UN headquarters in New York<\/a><\/span>, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.<\/p>\n
